Retrospect: TV Shows in 2018

2018 was a really stellar time for television. Personally, it was a time of transition for me (keep up, I swear). There were a lot of great shows and in particular a lot of great comedies

Retrospective: Books in 2018

It’s almost April and I’m still doing retrospectives. Last year I did an overhaul of this website in an attempt to make it prettier, more professional, and easier for me to deal with. And while it did those things it didn’t make it more accessible as much as I wanted. It required a lot of work, and frankly it still looks empty – which is not what I want. So I’ve found a new website creator and over the next few months I’ll be working on that and move it over hopefully around June or July.

Retrospective: Board Games in 2018

Board games are an inherent part of my life. For the last several years they were integral to my career and my downtime. I love games, and I’m surrounded by them all the time (that’s a good thing). I play board games a lot. I mean, a lot. So much that I started tracking my plays using an app because not only do I love board games, but I love stats and data. To paint this picture clearly I spent 349 hours playing in 2016 and 318 hours in 2017. 2018 was a different story. Between the miserable first part of the year and the traveling in the middle part of the year, I spent only 84 hours in all of 2018.

The Year of Change

2018 was hard. I’ve written that line over a dozen times trying to find the words to make this blog. I struggled to try and make it sound meaningful and genuine, but the reality is that I posted a lot about my move, a change in career, and a lot of other changes; after all last year was the year of change. And that was true – and then I went silent for a few months. As is tradition, over the next few weeks I’ll be talking about my retrospective, highlighting my Top 9’s of different medias from the last year. This post I’ll be talking about personal stuff.

Journeys End

Our summer journey has come to an end. We have a house and have moved in with our roommates. Maxine has started school. The only thing left is for the moving and storage company to bring our stuff – I say this after having almost been moved in for a full month.

The Long Journey (Home)

Our end destination is likely to be Indianapolis, Indiana for a handful of reasons, but right now we’re adventuring for the summer and the first leg of our journey is to Florida, where my parents retired. My partner and I have an 8-year-old daughter, Maxine, and her last day of school in California was the day we moved out of that apartment and hit the road.

Changes Comes in… Lots?

It’s change time again. I’m working on finishing the last of the transitions to the new website. I need to art up the place, which is something I’ll be doing over the next few months. But, I got the domain name, set up the pages in a way I think is sleek and will organize things that way I want them, and transferred over all the old blog posts.
